Damn Insurance Company
Back in July the Urgent care people sent me to get full lab work, to find out why my stomach wouldn’t keep down food. Anyhow it was covered at that time by my insurance. However I found a real doctor under my medical plan and she sent me in for the same exact lab work in December. So this time I got a bill for $206.00 for lab work, because it was denied by my insurance company. Well I called the insurance company today 1 ½ later, of being on hold hanging up and calling back. It turns out that the lab people had the wrong code and doctor entered. After getting all that sorted out, with the insurance company they said I needed to contact my doctor’s office and have them fax over the information to them with the correct code or an explanation of why I was getting this lab work done. See the Lab people put Cardiac Disease Risk, (which wasn’t what I was being tested for) and provided no explanation of what the lab work was for.
So after lunch I called my doctors office explained to them what happened, they needed to pull my chart and said they would call me back. Well I am still waiting for that phone call.
I am not paying $206.00 every 2 months for the lab work. I have to go back in February/March for re-testing, because my cholesterol is too high.
Damn Lab people took a wild guess at what the code was without bothering to call my doctor.
